Proper installation is critical for long-term performance. Follow these mandatory steps for frame bedding and haunching to ensure your Fibera FRP covers maintain maximum structural integrity.
Concrete Bedding & Chamber Alignment
Prepare the concrete bed factoring in the exact height of the Fibera FRP frame. Ensure the manhole clear opening is equal to or slightly less than the frame's opening. The frame must be completely embedded in a minimum of M-20 grade concrete and must rest entirely on a solid foundation—the frame should never hang without full ground support.
Precision Frame Leveling
Accurately seat the frame and adjust it using a spirit level. Confirm that the air bubble remains exactly in the center (Zero-Zero Level). This guarantees the cover will sit perfectly flush with the surrounding road or architectural surface, preventing impact shocks from passing traffic.
Void Elimination & Base Smoothing
Carefully inspect the perimeter to ensure there are no visible gaps underneath the Fibera FRP frame. Use a trowel to apply and smooth the bedding material thoroughly on both the inside and outside of the chamber, creating a solid, continuous base that prevents weak points.
Mortar Haunching & Final Bonding
Use the remaining mortar to fully envelope the Fibera FRP frame, paying particular attention to reinforcing the corner areas. Smooth out the mortar with a trowel to guarantee a strong, permanent bond with the frame and to prevent any initial micro-cracks from forming in the bedding material.
